Social Situations – School Bullying

Age: 6+

The book's primary goal is to educate children on how they should deal with bullying. The book is divided into three sections describing situations from the perspective of the bullied person (victim), of the child who bullies (bully), and of the child who witnesses the bullying incident (observer).

Bullied children are encouraged to understand that the feelings they experience from the situation are normal and that they should not feel bad, as what happens is not their fault; on the contrary, children who bully them are to blame.

On the other hand, children who bully are encouraged to talk about the underlying causes that lead them to this behaviour, understand that it is wrong, and change it by dealing with their problems in other ways.

The cards of the last section of the book describe bullying incidents and the mentality of children who observe the problem but do nothing to change the situation. The effects of bullying are not only limited to the psychology of the child victim but often extend to the psychology of the child observer.

The book 'Social Situations: School Bullying' is an excellent tool to help children handle and resolve the problem, by reducing bullying incidents and creating a healthier and safer school environment for all children.

Πολύ καλό, εύχρηστο και στοχευμένο κοινωνικό εγχειρίδιο. Παραθέτω κάτωθι την κριτική μου, έχοντας λάβει την προ-έκδοση του βιβλίου καρτών από τον εκδότη. Το παρόν είναι υλικό, είναι ένα απαραίτητο εγχειρίδιο για όσους δουλεύουν ή έρχονται σε επαφή με παιδιά! Η οργάνωση του υλικού, ο τρόπος παρουσίασης, η προσεκτική και σαφής χρήση λέξεων σχετικά με τον εκφοβισμού, βοηθούν παιδιά και εφήβους να κατανοήσουν όλα όσα συμβαίνουν γύρω από το σχολικό εκφοβισμό. Ένα εργαλείο που βρίσκει αντίκρισμα στους νέους της σύγχρονης εποχής!

Είχα την τιμή να παραλάβω την προ-έκδοση του συγκεκριμένου βιβλίου από τις εκδόσεις Upbility. Στο βιβλίο αναφέρονται σημαντικές πληροφορίες για τον σχολικό εκφοβισμό γενικότερα, τα χαρακτηριστικά των παιδιών που εκφοβίζονται καθώς και στρατηγικές κατά του σχολικού εκφοβισμού. Οι κάρτες είναι διαμορφωμένες κατάλληλα, ώστε με εύκολο, απλό και κατανοητό τρόπο να αντιληφθεί κανείς τις διαφορετικές μορφές που μπορεί να πάρει ο σχολικός εκφοβισμός και τις συνέπειες που μπορεί να επιφέρει. Επιπλέον, οι κάρτες αναφέρουν πιθανούς τρόπους που μπορεί να αντιμετωπίσει κανείς τις διάφορες καταστάσεις σχολικού εκφοβισμού είτε ως θύμα, είτε ως θύτης είτε ως απλός παρατηρητής. Πάρα πολύ καλό υλικό. Θα το χρησιμοποιήσω σίγουρα με τους μαθητές μου!

Παρουσιάζει μια σειρά από συνήθη σενάρια εκφοβισμού και παρέχει σαφείς, εύκολες συμβουλές για τον καλύτερο χειρισμό κάθε κατάστασης. Κάθε κάρτα περιέχει μια περιγραφή της κατάστασης μαζί με προτεινόμενα βήματα δράσης και πιθανά αποτελέσματα, γεγονός που συμβάλλει στην καλύτερη συνειδητοποίηση των πιθανών συνεπειών από τον αναγνώστη. Ανυπομονώ να το χρησιμοποιήσω!
