Critical thinking is a mental and emotional function allowing us to evaluate all available information and decide what to do or think by reasoning on it.
The book provides activities for developing all six critical thinking skills:

  1. Knowledge: recalling information
  2. Understanding: translating or interpreting information
  3. Application: applying knowledge to a new situation
  4. Analysis: breaking down information into smaller parts and finding the relationship between them
  5. Synthesis: compiling component ideas into a new whole and building a network of relations for the new situations
  6. Evaluation: the ability to evaluate, to assess the value and the adequacy of both the information and the methods used for a specific purpose
